Mudflat excursions with Natuurcentrum Ameland; that is enjoyment, experience, and discovery. Anyone visiting Ameland really must venture out onto the Wadden Sea. It is a unique and fascinating nature reserve that holds UNESCO World Heritage status for good reason. Under the guidance of an experienced Wadden Sea guide, you will discover all the wonders the Wadden area holds. At the Wadden Sea between Ballum and Hollum, you will receive an introduction to large tidal flats, shell species such as mussels and cockles, birds, and the Wadden Sea food web. Wad Ballum is highly suitable for a complete tour through multiple biotopes and for viewing this piece of special heritage! The regular Wadden Sea excursions offered by Natuurcentrum Ameland are suitable for everyone. The duration is 1.5 hours. This tour is conducted in Dutch. Pets are not allowed on this tour! Groups of 10 or more people can book the above activity with their own guide. Please contact the Natuurcentrum for this.

The starting point is on top of the dike at the end of the Skuteweg, on the Sea side.
Important to know
Due to sharp stones and shells, it is mandatory to wear boots or closed shoes (e.g. old sneakers) during Wading excursions. Participation with water shoes, slippers, sandals or other open or fabric footwear is not permitted. If you do not wear the correct shoes/boots you will not be able to participate.
