Mudflats excursions
The mudflat excursions of the Ameland Nature Center; that is to enjoy, experience and discover. Anyone who is visiting Ameland should set foot in the Wadden Sea at some point. It's a unique and fascinating nature reserve that has UNESCO World Heritage status for good reason. Accompanied by an experienced guide, you will discover all the wonders that the Wadden area has to offer. The vastness and purity is impressive and overwhelming. Along the way, an explanation is given about what can be found in the Wadden Seabed and the specific features and special status of the area are highlighted. At the Wad near Buren you get an introduction to muddy rifts, wet sandbanks and many crustaceans. Anyone who doesn't mind a little seawater will have a lot of fun at Buren! This tour is given in Dutch. Pets are not allowed on this tour! Groups (from 10 people) Groups can book the above activity with their own guide. For this you can contact the Nature Center.

The starting point is at the end of the Reeweg in Buren on the dike near the Wadden Sea.
Important to know
Due to sharp stones and shells, it is mandatory to wear boots or closed shoes (e.g. old sneakers) during Wading excursions. Participation with water shoes, slippers, sandals or other open or fabric footwear is not permitted. If you do not wear the correct shoes/boots you will not be able to participate.
