End of winter photo tour? Will you join us on the search for returning migratory birds? Along with a local forest ranger, we'll visit a beautiful, photogenic location on Ameland to search for beautiful, possibly returning migratory birds and to photograph some of the natural beauty and North Sea coast. That day, I'll give you some helpful tips to help you take better photos and a bag full of inspiration. You can arrange your own ferry to Ameland (9:45 a.m. Holwerd-Ameland). Perhaps you're already staying on the island, or you're making a weekend of it. Upon arrival on Ameland, we'll hop on our bikes (not included) to our photo location. If you're already on the island, we'll send you the location. Ameland isn't very big, and a bike ride of about 45 minutes is planned. The forest ranger will take us to a beautiful location where we can take beautiful photos. I'll provide you with photography tips. I'll help you with focusing, shooting in various camera modes, lighting, and composition. After about three hours in nature, it's time to go your own way. You can, like me, head back to the boat, or you can grab a drink somewhere and go your own way. For those in doubt, I'll be coming to the island from the mainland for a day myself, so I'm also dependent on a day trip by boat. I'm going to make this day suitable for beginners and more advanced photographers. But even as an experienced photographer, you'll come home with beautiful photos. Perhaps this day will inspire you. - A camera with manual settings is a plus, but not a must. - A zoom lens makes photographing birds and wildlife much easier and more accessible. A 70-200° lens is a great start. - A tripod or monopod is useful. - In wintery conditions, it's wise to bring rain pants. - We'll cycle about 10 kilometers from the boat and then walk about 5 kilometers through the dunes and beach. The pace will be very slow, and we might see the first birds worth observing for the rest of the workshop after just 250 meters. - Nature reigns. I can offer you a beautiful moment in nature. Naturally, we'll look for a location where there's a good chance of birds, but no guarantees can be made. - We are guests in nature. Please respect nature and promote it. Please take your own trash with you. - You'll arrange everything else yourself. Bike rental or transportation on the island is at your own expense. - You will receive confirmation of the workshop's continuation no later than the Wednesday before the workshop. Therefore, please wait to book the boat. If you cancel, you will be reimbursed for the workshop. Other expenses incurred will not be reimbursed. - The workshop can also take place in inclement weather. Please be prepared for this. If it really seems too bad, you'll receive confirmation no later than Wednesday. - I'm also from the mainland and also depend on the boat. I take the boat's schedule into account in everything I do. Afterwards, we can arrange a Zoom call and show and discuss some of the photos we took.
