De Arak-kapitein van Ameland, een muzikaal verhaal over Olfert Pieters Lap
The Arak Captain of Ameland A musical story about Olfert Pieters Lap Olfert Pieters Lap, born in Hollum, became captain of the Christina Agatha in the 1840s. The ship's portrait can be seen in the Sorgdrager Museum; it hangs above the box bed in the period room. Lap sailed from Texel to Batavia via the roadsteads, collecting the finest and tastiest products there, working for the shipowner in Amsterdam. His death has a very special story. The Kruiend IJs theatre company tells it. A street in Hollum has been named after Olfert Pieters Lap, and for good reason: he meant a great deal to the island. The music is by Kees Poulus and the lyrics are by Inge Klinkert and Jeanet de Jong. Featuring Anne-Meta Kobes as narrator and singer, Kees Poulus on guitar and vocals, and Jeanet de Jong as narrator (in Ameland) and on melodeon. Location: Herenwegkerk in Hollum
