Expedition Wadden Sea + shell bank
In addition to our program, we can dry up our ship and you get the chance to walk a bit on the shell bank, accompanied by an expert guide. We prepare the gangway and make a trip to the shell bank. Our guide will tell you everything about this unique nature reserve. You go into the water up to your knees. Don't forget binoculars and a camera! We stay on the sandbank for about an hour.

WL35 Brakzand
Sailing on the Wadden Sea is a real experience! The WL35 sails daily from the port of Ameland onto the mudflats, for a trip of about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. First we go to the seals and then we throw the net out at sea, and after fifteen minutes we pick them up again. We're emptying the net aboard the ship. The crew gives text and explanation about the catch. The catch: various fish, crabs and starfish are placed in our open aquariums / tanks to admire, touch and smell! The catch is then thrown overboard alive again. The sea is alive! A trawl net brings out what the sea hides from view: underwater life, from scratchy crabs to glassy shrimp. You will have the opportunity to admire the sea creatures up close. From the deck you can see the above water life: thousands of seabirds of all shapes and sizes. At low tide you can watch the seals on the sandbanks. Scan the sea with binoculars, breathe in the salty sea air and enjoy the sun and the serene tranquility. This is an ultimate adventure tour. A true experience! Our ship, the "WL35 Brakzand" is fully equipped, such as a nice cup of coffee in our heated interior or at the bar with a view over the entire mudflat, or find a place on the panorama deck, there is always a place out of the wind to find. Toilets are available.
